Wayne's World

This event has passed

Back when it was considered uncool to “sell out” to the Man, overgrown teen metalheads Wayne and Garth are tempted to take their public access cable show (filmed in Wayne’s basement) to the big time. But can they stay true to themselves in the process? Courtesy of star and cowriter Mike Myers, this is the most Canadian of SNL spin-offs, and also (coincidentally?) the best since The Blues Brothers. It’s a very smart dumb comedy, with more catchy catchphrases than you can shake a hockey stick at. Schwing!

Wayne’s World is a sociological dissertation on the post-adolescent, pre-existential, psychodynamic polemics of popular culture. Not! Wayne’s World is a ton of fun for people who are younger than 30 or who think they are.
