Maryam Tafakory, born and raised in Iran, works with film and performance. Her solo works have been featured at the MoMA, BOZAR, National Gallery of Art, and Academy Museum, and her films have been screened at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight, NYFF, Locarno, and TIFF, among others. Tafakory is the winner of a Gold Hugo from the 58th Chicago International Film Festival, a Tiger Short Award from the 51st IFFR, and Best Experimental Film from the 70th and 71st MIFF. She was also the 2024 winner of the Film London Jarman Award.
